Botox & Dysport
What are they?
Botox & Dysport are botulinum toxins, a neurotoxin protein used in medicine and cosmetics. We use it to reduce wrinkles and fine lines, prevent permanent lines from developing over time, and even migraines.
How do they work & what is the difference?
These medicines work by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters that tell the muscle to contract. By blocking this, we prevent muscle movement which helps wrinkles and gives you a more youthful appearance.
Botox & Dysport are cousins. Altough we hear the term "botox" more, Dysport is used just as much. Dysport is a more diluted version and is ideal for larger areas. Also, Dysport usually has a faster onset than Botox, but both typically last between 3-4 months.
Botox is the "granddaddy" of the toxins. It is the most common and the oldest approved version. Botox is not as diluted as Dysport, making it more potent.
Areas of Treatment
There are many areas of the face that we use Botox & Dysport for! Although the Forehead, Crow's Feet, and Frown Lines are most common, we use Botox through most of the face! We also use them to raise, lower eye brows and other corrective needs!

These medications are commonly priced by the "unit". In some cases, This method can get costly! At The Palms, we have deals of were we can price "areas" instead of "units". It is difficult to price Botox/Dysport without a consultation to discover the amount you will need.
