How Micro-Needling Works
Microneedling has become very popular and trendy worldwide the past year due to its effectiveness & results. The greatest part is, we are using the bodies own "healing process" to rejuvenate your skin, fixing targeted issues.
Micro-Needling is a procedure used to treat many skin conditions like acne, acne scars, scar tissue, fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, sun spots, age spots, and can overall improve texture and appearance of your skin.
We use a device that has many "Micro-Needles" that will pierce your skin at up to 12,000 times per minute! (Don't worry, we do numb your face). By puncturing the skin, we activate the healing process of our own body. This stimulates collagen production which is new skin cells.
Treatment & Recovery
The Process of the Treatment
The first stage of your Microneedling treatment is your FREE consultation. This is when we will take a closer look at your skin and decide if the treatment is right for you.
Once we decided to perform the Micro-Needling, we will do a full cleanse of your face then use local topical anesthesia (Lidocaine) to numb your face that normally takes around 30 minutes.
Once your face is numb, we will start the process. The treatment begins! This treatment takes up to an hour to perform. The Provider will use a serum like hyaluronic acid or even PRP (more about PRP below) and perform "passes" throughout your face, while also targeting specific areas, like microneedling scars, microneedling wrinkles, etc.
Post-Treatment
Post-Treatment: After your treatment of microneedling is performed, another serum will be applied by our team. You will then be educated more on post care treatment. It will appear as if you have a sun burn on your face. You will need to avoid sun exposure, hot showers, steam, strenuous exercise for a few days. Cool calming mask can also be applied for soothing pain/burn
The Healing Process
The first 2 days after microneedling, your face will be red, like a sun burn. This is the start of the skins own healing process. Be sure in this phase, to protect your skin from sun, heat, steam.
Around day 5 after procedure, your skin will start to "peel" like a sun burn would. This means, your skin is shedding its old layer and your new layer is rising to the surface!
After a week or so, new collagen is produced and you will start to see much improvement in your skin! Around 2 weeks, you will notice drastic changes in your skin appearance! But guess what? Collagen is STILL being produced!
Now lets talk about Micro-Needling with PRP
What's the difference?
Microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP, is the plasma in your own blood. PRP has many growth factors and also is a key player in wound healing and tissue rejuvenation.
The difference in "standard" Micro-Needling and Micro-needling with PRP, is we will use your own blood and inject throughout your facial skin!
THIS IS KNOWN AS THE VAMPIRE FACIAL!
We will first collect blood from your vein, like a normal blood draw! We then use a special machine to separate the red blood cells from the plasma/platelets.
Then the Provider will use the plasma and platelets during the Micro-Needling phase, injecting the blood back into your skin!
